Trails are routes someone walked before you. Mark them dashed, so they read as a suggestion rather than a wall.

How to draw them

dashed    2/4 dash, confident
difficulty  easy → double line, hard → dot
junctions  numbered waypoints
access     land ownership, politely

Rule of thumb

A trail is a line with a story. The switchback that nearly beat you, the ridge that paid it off — put those in the margin.
